PS> as far as some of the stuff on the link of the original post... I don't know... I agree with the comments that most of it, if not all, was crap elders would take upon themselves... I do know for a certainty in the 70's they would follow suspicious activities of members (like going into gay club etc) and definitely watching singles homes to catch them fornicating... this was to comply with the almighty 2 witness rule!!! Anyway, I am not big on conspiracy theories-- but theres so much crap this org has been caught doing... wouldn't put it past them.

by TerryWalstrom ini'm posting this link:http://jwdivorces.bravehost.com/spies.htmlonce you start reading it you won't be able to stop.fascinating and well-documented citations which give credibility to the belief that such a sneaky, underhanded, and often illegal practice has been secretly promoted for decades by watchtower society world headquarters..

If this didn't happen to me personally, I would have totally disregarded it... the fact is, it DID! Back in 2012-13 HELL YES, the WT was experimenting with cookie and IP address tracking software and had been quite successful in catching a few PIMO's on "apostate sites" making/leaking information. One of my family members fell victim and was caught, called in for a judicial meeting where they were all too ready to DF him. A war of words ensued that this was a witch hunt since no one seemed to know HOW the elders came to know of his being on the sites in question... doesn't there have to be an actual accuser? There was a stalemate and after several hours the verdict had been changed from auto DF to public reproof... Later on, after things had blown over just a bit, I approached one of the elders on the committee... (Keep in mind, I was still very much physically and mentally in at this time) I asked innocently a question that bounced to the fact that they had received emails from an "inside source" showing our internet IP address was on a list that was being compiled, and that is why our family member was called in... (there's more to this, but I cannot tell all details since this person is STILL LEAKING info) he just found another way to do it without being tracked. I don't think they care about the average publisher--- I think they are more tracking MS, elders and other high ups that have access to things that they don't want leaked... just my personal opinion...

Supreme Court of Canada Rules in Favor of Jehovah’s Witnesses
by pale.emperor ininteresting how watchtower have twisted whats actually happened and how they've presented it to their members:.
from https://www.jw.org/en/news/jw/region/canada/supreme-court-rules-20180531/.
in a unanimous decision released on may 31, 2018, the supreme court of canada recognized that the disfellowshipping arrangement should remain free from court intervention.

If he's not totally awake- he may just be one of those extremely RARE JW's who has the unique ability to actually use their own brain! lol Seriously though--- if he's not awake, he soon will be with that beautiful logic!

This year’s convention
by lastmanstanding intwo things i noted at this year’s rc.
1) the new teaching with respect to matthew 25:45 which was applied equally to the rank & file jw.
this teaching is also found in the watchtower study for last sunday.. then he will answer them, saying: ‘truly i say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.. 2) the new armageddon video which was a big shift.

How exactly did they apply this to the rank and file at the convention? Or is this just speculation? (Very interesting) -

On leaving JW's and hating religion...
by Jehalapeno init's been nearly 4 years now since i completely woke up to the watchtower lies.. thinking back on my jw life, during the time i believed, the organization truly did teach us to hate all beliefs that were contrary to the watchtower's.. i hated "false" religion.. so, when i finally woke up and applied critical thinking to my beliefs, i just went on hating religion in general...only this time i added jw's to that list.. a few months of waking up, i decided to base my beliefs on evidence.
i didn't want to have a set of beliefs unless there was some logic or evidence behind it.
so, now i consider myself an atheist.. and i kept on hating religion.. within the last six months or so, something has changed.

2 Cents: Religion (Organized Religion) to me has always been destructive when you look at the WHOLE of it. (Like was mentioned, there was a few good things accomplished here or there, which could have been accomplished even still without a religious group behind it) With that said, however, there is a huge difference between religion and spirituality in my eyes and I see the world a whole heck of a lot better WITHOUT religion clouding my view...

by dubstepped inalright, many of you know me from the this jw life and shunned podcasts along with my inane ramblings on here.
i just made my first video and put myself out there on youtube along with my podcast episodes that are on there now.
i put my podcast audio up on there as videos and new people are subscribing and finding it through that.

Are we losing our way a bit at JWN?
by nicolaou infirstly, i want to be crystal clear how grateful i am for jwn.
it's been my place of support for over seventeen years and it's the first online space i direct anyone to if they are taking steps out of the cult.
i am not bashing jwn - i love this place and appreciate the hard work and expense simon puts in to keep it going.

Do older faders fear better than younger faders
by joe134cd ini read and replied to a post today about weather there were any benefits in been a jw.
as much as i now dislike the religion, i had to agree that there was an up side, due to their strong stance on alcohol, gambling, smoking, and sexual practice.
we would all agree that these can be terrible vices that can get out of control.. i was at one point a true believer, who believed in these rules, and to a point have benefited from abstaining from these practices.

I think anyone who leaves the this so called religion fares quite well no matter what the age----> IF and ONLY IF they are fully awake to the facts and not torn between still thinking it could be true. That, to me, is where most young or old seem to run into major issues...
